Carmen Carbonell is a musician and music educator teaching and performing in the Greater Boston area. With nearly twenty years of music teaching experience, she has a passion for helping students of all ages and abilities reach their full potential and experience the joy of playing music!

Philosophy
I strive to create an environment of mutual kindness and respect for my students. I believe that both children and adults learn best when they are taught in a caring environment by a teacher who is invested in them and their success! Once individualized lesson goals are established, I work together with students and their families to reach those goals adjusting our approach over time as needed.​
In addition to providing rigorous instruction, I also make sure lessons are fun and a highlight of the week! The ability to make music is a beautiful gift that can bring so much joy to life. My passion to is to share this gift with my students and to help them experience joy and creative expression through music!
Adaptive and Accessible
I am dedicated to providing high quality music education for everyone, including those with disabilities. I have several years of special education experience with students who have a wide range of disabilities, including vision & hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, ADHD/ADD, and ASD. My family was fortunate to find Carmen after struggling with previous teachers at a well-known music school near us. We started with 30 minute lessons for one child and now both older kids are taking piano with Carmen and are loving it. Carmen makes the hard things seem possible, encouraging kids to take on challenging tasks in a supportive environment. The progress my kids have made is terrific and just the fact that they have been both playing consistently throughout several years is a joy to my family. We are grateful for Carmen's hard work and patience.
