Piano Lessons
Adults and Children 3.5 or older. Carmen began teaching private piano in high school and is passionate about helping each of her students improve! Her teaching approach for beginner/intermediate students is structured around the Faber Piano series as well as supplemental pieces and materials to ensure a thorough understanding of ear training, music theory, improvisation, and piano technique.
Advanced students will study challenging Classical and/or popular repertoire to continue to improve their technical skills as well as their musical interpretation. Students interested in pursuing music professionally will receive support for college auditions and develop key professional skills, including performance preparation, memorization, and fluent sight reading.
Voice Lessons
Adults and Children 8 or older. Improve your vocal skills in a fun and supportive learning environment! Carmen focuses her vocal teaching approach on mindfulness of the body in order to use the voice effectively while maintaining vocal health. She has a strong emphasis on building her students' confidence and helping them reach their performance goals.
Carmen teaches voice students with interest in a wide variety of genres including Classical, Pop, Country, Rock, and Musical Theater.
Accompanying
Carmen began accompanying for vocal and instrumental performances around age 9 and has a passion for collaborative music making! She has experience with solo vocalists, choirs, chamber ensembles, and a wide range of solo instruments. Available for performances and events as well as private vocal coaching sessions, contact to schedule.
